Who We Are

Purpose Driven DJs are like minded DJs, producers and other creatives of music that have an incredible drive to do the right thing for the world's best interest and that of their charities, nonprofits, communities and countries.

It is a concept conceived of by Charity Needs Foundation (CNF), a UK registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (1168917) that promotes registered voluntary sector organisations, their campaigns and global issues worldwide.
This campaign is overseen by CNF until it may become its own entity.

One of the first tasks that PDDs will join in with is helping the shift in attitudes towards climate change by engaging in Prince William's Earthshot program.

The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment project and prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. This is what we want to do too with the power of music, incentivise such change through DJs, producers and other creative artistes; to be able to drop these creations at festive events as well as anywhere else, without them being out of place or out of sorts.

The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism, by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change, and inspiring collective action.

Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come.

The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unites people to tackle some of today’s biggest challenges, delivering impact on a range of issues that matter to Their Royal Highnesses and to society. The Royal Foundation is currently running The Earthshot Prize until it becomes its own entity by the end of 2021.

You can find out more about the Earthshot program at this url: https://earthshotprize.org/

Why DJs

Because DJs can structure music really quickly and get it out to an audience in a matter of days if pushed. Recording artistes don't have such luxury.
There is one other reason to...

Back in the late 80's, early 90's when dance music was in its infancy and a cultural phenomenon had started to form, there was one person amongst a small journalist team that was there witnessing it all unfold from behind the lens of a camera.

That person was Jonathan Fleming, a Mixmag Magazine photographer and author of the only definitive book that was ever written depicting that history and the cultural revolution that followed.
The story is told in interviews with over 80 of the world’s leading DJs who were making that scene come to life, most of which are international stars today.
The book is called 'What Kind of House Party Is This', it can be found on Amazon (only secondhand and at varying prices from £100.00 to £1000.00 depending on condition), those lucky enough to have copies now have antiques in their hands for the book is out of print and will not be reproduced in that format again.

Having spent 15 wonderful and glorious years at the magazine it became time to move on when the business was sold into a corporation where everything changed.
Beforehand it was a family run entity by the Princes, that is, Tony & Christine Prince who also own and run DMC (formerly known as the Disco Mix Club, but now known as the Dance Music Consortium). Perhaps because the business was a family run enterprise the journalists and photographers had freedom to roam and set their own agendas. In a corporation that is tantamount to kaos. The fun, the blaggings, the excessive VIP lists all came to an end.

Having left the magazine to venture out into other areas, Jonathan wanted to give back and established Charity Needs Foundation which is a UK registered charitable organisation that promotes, markets and profiles voluntary sector organisations and their campaigns worldwide.
Thus the reason we are here, Jonathan now wants to find a way for the beloved movement that gave him so much joy and wellbeing over those many years, even till now, to benefit others in the positive manner that music can exude.
This coupled with a sense of purpose is a powerful substance for keeping spirits high and instilling that same wellbeing which Jonathan still experiences today. It is why he gives back as much as he does, it's a natural release of dopamine. The change in you as a human being will be slightly alien because you will not understand why you continue to give, support and champion a purpose, until it dawns on you that there is an natural internal process taking place because of the drive you make to set forth your purpose (that intention to do the right thing), a purpose that could serve to help, hundreds, thousands, millions even billions of others.

That purpose is what you need to strive for and everything else in your life will follow as a matter of course.
If everyone comes together in a bid to help alleviate the global issues that are in the world today, particularly with support of the DJs pumping out message driven content in some of the music (like the rough example at this link — [AWAITING LINK]), the DJ will be elevated even higher throughout international societies than they already are and the people would have a return of pride in themselves and others for being the voice of reason and change.
The beneficiary of all this pride... our planet, the world we live in, the only world we can ever live in.
The DJ has already already carved a cultural revolution within the dance music arena and now they can go on to create a global revolution outside of their arena, yet still within their music.
The global issues at hand can be found right here: The 22 United Nations Global Critical Issues

We want you to join the movement, be you a DJ or the warm public ready to serve.
To join go to: The Purpose Drive page and fill in the quick and simple form.
For DJs, we require your name, email and country (and if different from your real name, your DJ name as well).
For the public we require your name, email, country and age along with a choice of the issues you deem important to you.
As an option either party can list registered charities or nonprofits that they would also like to support and for Charity Needs Foundation to freely promote.

Our Aim

If the public gets behind us we'll help the DJs freely create their purpose driven music in a purpose built studio. The ultimate goal will be to create saleable music that can support the project in a sustainable manner therefore giving Purpose Driven DJs the ability to generate positive impact for the campaigns and global issues they drive for.

To reach that goal we'll need initial public support and a lot of donations from you, your friends and your friends, friends. Every £10 the public donates will entitle them to a free pre-release download (with and without speech content) whenever they get produced and this gratitude will include other surprises but we don’t know what they could be yet.
Yes, it's ambitious, a bit of a wish, but nothing comes of nothing, so we'll try.

To donate go to: PurposeDrivenDJs.org/donate/

Let's truly see what we can do as a movement generating global impact.

Donate, Help Drive The Purpose

We are thankful if you can donate and if you do we use your donation to continue to innovate, educate and bring on events that will exude extreme happiness in others receiving our messages for them to go out and spread the word raising awareness.

All donations are taken in by Charity Needs Foundation for the campaign project of Purpose Driven DJs.
