Why DJs
Because DJs can structure music really quickly and get it out to an audience in a matter of days if pushed. Recording artistes don't have such luxury.

Back in the late 80's, early 90's when dance music was in its infancy and a cultural phenomenon had started to form, there was one person amongst a small journalist team that was there witnessing it all unfold from behind the lens of a camera.
That person was Jonathan Fleming, a Mixmag Magazine photographer and author of the only definitive book that was ever written depicting that history and the cultural revolution that followed.
The story is told in interviews with over 80 of the world’s leading DJs who were making that scene come to life, most of which are international stars today.
The book is called 'What Kind of House Party Is This', it can be found on Amazon (only secondhand and at varying prices from £100.00 to £1000.00 depending on condition), those lucky enough to have copies now have antiques in their hands for the book is out of print and will not be reproduced in that format again.
Having spent 15 wonderful and glorious years at the magazine it became time to move on when the business was sold into a corporation where everything changed.
Beforehand it was a family run entity by the Princes, that is, Tony & Christine Prince who also own and run DMC (formerly known as the Disco Mix Club, but now known as the Dance Music Consortium). Perhaps because the business was a family run enterprise the journalists and photographers had freedom to roam and set their own agendas. In a corporation that is tantamount to kaos. The fun, the blaggings, the excessive VIP lists all came to an end.
Having left the magazine to venture out into other areas, Jonathan wanted to give back and established Charity Needs Foundation which is a UK registered charitable organisation that promotes, markets and profiles voluntary sector organisations and their campaigns worldwide.
Thus the reason we are here, Jonathan now wants to find a way for the beloved movement that gave him so much joy and wellbeing over those many years, even till now, to benefit others in the positive manner that music can exude.
This coupled with a sense of purpose is a powerful substance for keeping spirits high and instilling that same wellbeing which Jonathan still experiences today. It is why he gives back as much as he does, it's a natural release of dopamine. The change in you as a human being will be slightly alien because you will not understand why you continue to give, support and champion a purpose, until it dawns on you that there is an natural internal process taking place because of the drive you make to set forth your purpose (that intention to do the right thing), a purpose that could serve to help, hundreds, thousands, millions even billions of others.
That purpose is what you need to strive for and everything else in your life will follow as a matter of course.
If everyone comes together in a bid to help alleviate the global issues that are in the world today, particularly with support of the DJs pumping out message driven content in some of the music (like the rough example at this link — [AWAITING LINK]), the DJ will be elevated even higher throughout international societies than they already are and the people would have a return of pride in themselves and others for being the voice of reason and change.
The beneficiary of all this pride... our planet, the world we live in, the only world we can ever live in.
The DJ has already already carved a cultural revolution within the dance music arena and now they can go on to create a global revolution outside of their arena, yet still within their music.
